From a small informal group involving British nationals living in Serbia and Serbian nationals that studied and worked in the United Kingdom, the British Society of Serbia was born with the aim of fostering and cultivating British-Serbian relations. It now comprises more than 1,500 members in the UK and Serbia.
The UK and Serbia have enjoyed a close relationship for almost 200 years. Today, both countries enjoy a vibrant cultural and economic exchange, witnessing many Serbian students and professionals sharing Serbian culture with Britons, and many Britons calling Serbia home.
Alongside promoting friendship and cooperation between Serbia and the UK, the Society has been active in supporting various charities and has actively contributed to the enhancement of trade and economic relations between both countries.
Members of the Society come from all disciplines and professions, and work jointly in promoting a better understanding between Serbia, the UK and the Commonwealth.
